The Grubstake Remix

The Grubstake Remix

2015 | 72 minutes

The Grubstake Remix reimagines Nell Shipman's 1923 northwoods melodrama as a dramatic comedy where the on-screen characters speak in Shakespearean English and French. A young woman - played on screen by Nell Shipman and in voice by Vancouver's Sarah Moore - goes north to the Klondike to seek her fortune only to be deceived and manipulated in a world dominated by men. Grubstake Remix is a unique cinema hybrid that crosses between the worlds of performance documentary and dramatic fiction.
